#7, Cypress study

I'm way behind schedule on my tree challenge. I did this quick study yesterday sitting at the park on River Road in Boerne. There are some beautiful cypress trees along the banks.

  1. Pauly - what a lovely study. Ok, I'm partial to trees, especially those that have roots hanging out all over the place, and I'm in love with graphite drawings, so you immediately had my attention. But..... you did one more thing, and that was to capture some Cypress soul in this study. It's absolutely lovely. I can't wait to see more, and am so glad I found your blog!

  2. Thank you so much for your kind comments. Do you have a website? Are you an artist also?

  3. I do have a website, but am ashamed to say that I have let it fall into disarray these past few months, and have not updated it. I am mad about watercolor and graphite, and love oils. For the past 2 years I tried to master oils, but never could get a working relationship going with them, so I went back to watercolor ( given my age). Ok, it isn't that I think that older people can't learn new tricks, but time moves quickly now, and I'd rather spend it perfecting my watercolor until I can perfect it no more.
Pauly, your tree has a lot of expressiveness.
